Add Some Warmth with Color!

My first design tip for everyone who is working with a limited budget, is to ignore expensive accessories for a bit and start with three easy things first:  1)paint  2) draperies and 3) rugs.  Most people are scared of color and color is what really warms up a home and makes it unique.  Picking paint colors can be scary, and for some people it is worth hiring a designer for this simple task to avoid the cost of having something re-painted professionally.  If you are painting on your own, it may be worth the risk and time to pick your colors on your own and re-paint it if you don't like the results.  I suggest staying away from colors that are too bright because you may get sick of them fast.  Also, accent walls are great, but avoid doing them in every room.  Paint, rugs and drapes can all be offered at different price-points for all different budgets, and at even the lowest price-points they will help add a depth and luxury to your home.  Buy yourself some paint and get inspired to add some color for the holidays!
